Join Derek Hersch for a Virtual Writing Marathon!
Hear about what Derek has in store!This session will challenge participants to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and write about a variety of prompts, e.g images, portraits and quotes.
Based on the Minnesota Writing Project's format, the goals of this session are to develop your identity as a writer, improve your powers of observation and build community. We will move through several scenes and take ~10 minutes to write about something that inspires us. Each participant will read their writing aloud, with no comments or discussion by the group, and then we'll move onto the next scene.
After we finish the writing portion there will be a discussion about our individual experiences and how this exercise can improve our work as nonprofit professionals. Depending on the size of the group, the session will take between 60 and 90 minutes.
