As a member-based organization, feedback from our members on how we’re running YNPN Twin Cities is vital to the success of the organization. Recently, we sent out our annual member survey, and respondents told us what we’re doing well and what we can do to bring more value to you, our members.
Here are 5 key things you had to say this year:
1. You’ve gotten to know the sector better.
When asked what you have gained from being a member of YNPN-TC, 72% of you said that you have a greater awareness of local nonprofits. Just under half of you said that you have made a new professional connection in the sector and that you have a sense of empowerment regarding professional development.
2. Some of you want more focused networking; for others, you want more focus on content and education.
While some suggested that YNPN-TC have more structured networking opportunities, others responded that you want professional development that reflects your needs and provides tangible take-aways. You also want YNPN-TC to grow with you. Those of you who are further along in your careers want programming that meets your needs, too.
3. You’re concerned about accessibility of events.
You expressed a desire to have events scheduled at different times and locations that make programming more accessible to more people. For example: evenings and locations outside of the Twin Cities.
4. Most of you feel welcome - but there’s more YNPN-TC can do.
72% of you said you feel at least somewhat welcome at events, but you have ideas for how we can do better. Making sure people are at events to welcome and say hello to first-time attenders, and grouping new members by similar organizational missions are just two ideas offered. You also want to see us continue to recruit committee members with diverse perspectives for the Programming Committee as well as having leaders and speakers from communities of color at events.
5. We are Fun, Networking, Engaging, and Connected.
These four words were used most frequently when we asked our members to describe YNPN-TC.
