The energy in the Guthrie’s Wurtele Thrust Stage was palpable, nearly every seat in the house filled. But this wasn’t opening night of the theater’s latest production. Nonprofit leaders from across the Midwest were gathered for the keynote at bushCONNECT.
For the second year in a row the Bush Foundation invited YNPN-TC members to this exciting leadership networking event, designed to bring nonprofit professionals that may not otherwise meet together to spark new ideas, step out of their comfort zones, and challenge the way they approach their work.
A cohort of sixteen YNPN-TC members from the Twin Cities, Fargo, and Rochester were selected out of a pool of applicants to attend the daylong event on May 4. The group participated in sessions on everything from women’s empowerment, to the power of storytelling, to improvisation.
What did they think of the day?
“It was great to meet other people involved in YNPN and learn more about the organization. I would love to attend more events in the future,” said one cohort member. Another found the event to be an invaluable tool in community building. “I am a stronger, more engaged, inspired nonprofit volunteer, and I am gratified to meet so many committed individuals to foster a stronger, more creative, healthier Midwest.”
A big thank you to the Bush Foundation for offering this invaluable experience to YNPN-TC members!
