YNPN thrives on the energy, skills and dedication of its volunteers. Volunteering with us is a great way to get more involved in Minnesota's nonprofit sector. You will develop and strengthen skills, gain experience, and connections that will aid in your career development. Opportunities are available to YNPN-TC members in our three committees. If you're interested, let us know by signing up below!
If you are not a member, then become one. It's free!
Membership & Communications
Take part in shaping the conversation and growing our members by volunteering with the Membership & Communications Committee. Joining this committee means you will become part of a team that is dedicated to providing relevant information and reaching current and potential members in innovative ways.
Specific committee volunteer positions include:
Graphic/Web Designer | Take your artistic prowess to new heights! We’re looking for creative folks to take our communication outputs from now to wow. One should already have access and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) and/or HTML or other web markup language.
Photographer/Videographer | Build your portfolio with us! We’re looking for visual storytellers to help bottle the culture of YNPN through various photo and video projects (e.g. event recaps, communication campaigns, online imagery, member spotlights, etc). Must have access to proper camera equipment.
e-News Writer | See your byline in our email newsletter, which hits almost 1000 inboxes every month. Great for those with a flair for writing, an interest in journalism, and an ability to meet deadlines.
Blog Editor | Become a vital part of the team that has made the YNPN Twin Cities blog such a huge success week in and week out. If you're comfortable with the writing style and conventions for the Web and have a sharp eye for detail, this could be the position for you.
Programming
Take a lead role in planning and executing the events and activities YNPN puts on to help develop its members and expand its reach and membership. Helping plan and execute programs is a great way to develop your event planning and partnership development skillsets while expanding your career portfolio.
Program Planner | Help execute a valuable development event while honing your event planning and partnership skills. You'll coordinate with a YNPN event lead on everything from event promotion and logistics to facilitator recruitment and program evaluation.
Program Assistant | Take your first step toward YNPN volunteering by helping excute one of its monthly events. You could run sign in, facilitate discussion, engage with members or any other number of event execution tasks.
Governance
As an organization with no paid staff, all of YNPN’s work is facilitated by the Board of Directors. Volunteers on the Governance Committee help to ensure the board, and thus the organization, are operating effectively. You will play a leadership role in the organization while better understanding the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members.
