We provide and promote opportunities for the development of young nonprofit professionals.

We envision a world where young nonprofit professionals:

• connect through purpose
• challenge to change
• lead together

Our values:

● We strive for respect and inclusiveness
● We seek opportunities to collaborate
● We respond to the evolving needs of our community

YNPN thrives on the energy, skills and dedication of its volunteers. Volunteering with us is a great way to get more involved in Minnesota's nonprofit sector. You will develop and strengthen skills, and gain experience and connections that will aid in your career development. Opportunities are available to YNPN-TC members in our three committees. If you're interested, let us know by signing up below!

If you are not a member, then become one. It's free!

Membership & Communications

Take part in shaping the conversation and growing our members by volunteering with the Membership & Communications Committee. Joining this committee means you will become part of a team that is dedicated to providing relevant information and reaching current and potential members in innovative ways.

Specific committee volunteer positions include:

Enews Editor (Email Santa Clause)| Ever thought about running your own monthly e-zine? Here’s your chance to curate online content for YNPN-TC members. You’ll also collect content from YNPN-TC volunteers. Oh, and your work will hit 1,000 inboxes a month.

Graphic Designer Lead (Brand Stylist)| We're looking for a Photoshop and Illustrator pro to produce a finalized, fully-designed new YNPN-TC logo, marketing materials and visual standards guide for web and print. Previous branding work is a huge plus! One should already have access and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

Web Developer (Code Slinger)| We’re looking for a WordPress (Thesis theme preferred) and HTML pro to develop a finalized, fully-designed new YNPN-TC website! You’ll work closely with the Graphic Designer Lead and other members of the committee to create an interactive and member centered ynpntwincities.org experience!

Graphic Designer Hands (Brand Stylist Assistants)| Take your artistic prowess to new heights! We’re looking for creative folks to take our communication outputs from now to wow. We’re especially interested in someone who can create attention-grabbing email headers and logos for our monthly events. One should already have access and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

Blog Editors (Writing Alchemists)| Become a vital part of the team that has made the YNPN Twin Cities blog such a huge success week in and week out. If you're comfortable with the writing style and conventions for the Web and have a sharp eye for detail, this could be the position for you.

Blog Writers (Nonprofit Pundits)| Build on your personal reputation by sharing your opinions on trends, issues, hot-button topics and other happenings with young nonprofit professionals and/or the sector.

Enews Assistant (Santa’s Helper)| Are you a format junkie? Come help us edit and format content for our monthly e-newsletter!

RADICAL Member Welcomers!| Are you that person who likes to make people feel welcome, both online and in-person? We’re looking for folks who are interested in helping us make events more fun and comfortable for new people, as well as those who are more comfortable behind a keyboard who might like sending personal emails to new members. If being a part of the welcoming crew sounds like fun to you, fill out the volunteer form.

YNPN-TC Evangelists| Do you love YNPN-TC? Would you like to volunteer to network with Cary Walski, the membership chair, on behalf our organization with potential external partners like HR professionals at major nonprofits across the Twin Cities? We’re hoping to kick-off an intra-sector advocacy effort, and need members who feel passionate about YNPN-TC to simply have conversations about YNPN-TC with non-members in the nonprofit sector.

People Who “Know a Guy”| Do you have connections to orgs who might be willing to connect YNPN-TC members with discounted tickets to events and other fun stuff happening around the Twin Cities? If so, we’d love to connect with you!

Data Geeks| We’ve got a new database, we do a yearly membership survey...If you’re the type of person who’s fascinated with data and would like to help us make the most of ours, why not join our little membership nerd herd?
