Saying Goodbye in GIFs: An animated send off to retiring YNPN-TC board members - Part 2

The conclusion to our farewell for our six departing board members! It just wouldn't be the YNPN-TC way if we didn't let them know how we feel in GIF form. We asked each departing board member to choose a GIF that represents a fellow board member and describe their choice. Here are your final three! (And don't miss part one.)

Farewell, Rinal. We'll miss your thoughtfulness, your quiet giggle, your "hey you guys" and so much more. You led the Governance Committee and then the board itself, taking seriously your charge to create a better sector and more opportunities for the young people in it. You worked through consensus and led with a gentle touch. Your style was to listen, absorb, and create space for others to do amazing things. Many times you were in the background, not taking limelight for your own, but those in the know saw your common sense, mindfulness, and tenacity in every win. We know your departure from the board is only that. You will continue to be the tireless advocate and supporter you've always been for YNPN and its members. And upon the conclusion of five years of service - we offer this standing ovation. You deserve it!

(by Lucas Havens)

Virginia is that rare breed--a brilliant force of nature who rarely withholds her well-considered opinions, yet who at the same time has a flexibility of thought and deep respect for her peers that help the group move forward. You'd be hard-pressed to leave a meeting with Virginia, whether three minutes or three hours, without feeling better informed and able to make smarter decisions. The board is losing a voice whose smart challenges have put it in a better place than it would be otherwise. More than anything, she clearly loves YNPN as an organization. She'll be difficult to replace.

"Communication requires understanding not agreement." Lucas, thank you for sharing the Havens family motto with YNPN-TC! I’ve held onto that since your early days on the board. You have brought great ENERGY, insights, and congeniality to the YNPN-TC Board and Governance Committee. You embody shared leadership and have been a great strategic voice in our work. Best of all you share your Vines, goofy YouTube faves, and general awesomeness with all of us. You opened your home and contributed generously your time and expertise to YNPN-TC. You’re the best!
