Peer Mentor Program Kick Off

Peer Mentor Program Kick Off

Peer mentor circles are made up of small groups of peers who have come together to act as mentors for one another to learn, discuss career challenges and goals, and network.

What does it look like?

First, fill out this survey to let us know your career interests and what you want to get out of this peer mentorship!

Then, attend our kick-off meeting on October 24, to meet your peer mentor group, learn more about our plans for this program, and schedule your first meet-up. Peer mentor groups are encouraged to meet for 12 months, and YNPN-TC will host a mid-year event and closing event for your group to attend together.

What will you get out of peer mentorship?

  • Share important learning from your own experience
  • Be known as a leader and a teacher within your
    organization
  • Learn from another person
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (can discuss in interviews & performance reviews)

"I felt like it’s helped me be a better manager later on in my career; I think coaching and providing support are key to good management, and interacting with our group and coaching/supporting each other through various issues and transitions was great preparation. Similarly, I feel like I’ve always heard that the best way to learn yourself is to teach. I feel like I gained a lot of confidence in my own skills and learned a lot about professionalism and being a nonprofit rockstar both from giving and receiving advice in the context of our peer mentor group."
