Mindfulness in the Workplace

Cafe ConversationsMindfulness essentially means moment-to-moment awareness. Although it originated in the Buddhist tradition, you don’t have to be Buddhist to reap its benefits. Toxic emotions disrupt the workplace, and mindfulness increases your awareness of these destructive patterns, helping you recognize them before they run rampant. It’s a way of reprogramming your mind to think in healthier, less stressful, ways. This conversation will provide an introduction to mindfulness, a few easy meditations you can do at work, and open discussion.

Facilitator: Nicole Stafford

Nicole works at Accenture Consulting as a Strategy Consultant for mid-sized to large corporations and non-profit organizations. She started meditating in 2014 after taking a Mindful-based Stress Reduction Course at the University of Minnesota. Since then, she's been involved in various Insight Meditation Communities in the Twin Cities, taught mindfulness at fitness studios, and recently attended a five-day silent meditation retreat at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California.

Parking is free on the street.
